Jon Mikel Zabala Iturriagagoitia is professor and researcher of the Department of Economics at the University of Deusto (Donostia-San Sebastián).
In this seminar, Prof. Zabala defined the concepts of innovation, innovation capacity and innovation performance, and discussed some of the approaches, methods and indicators used to measure these. He also provided a brief introduction to the innovation system framework and the relevance of developing comparative benchmarking investigations in order to characterize and measure (and thus, learn by comparing) the innovation processes in different systems.
