On November 12th, we celebrated the presentation of the book “Innovation, intellectual capital and economic development: Essays in honor of Paloma Sánchez “, at the Faculty of Economics and Business of Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM).
In this event, we were accompanied by Rafael Garesse, Rector of UAM, Juan Pedro Moreno, President of Accenture, José Molero, President of “Foro de Empresas Innovadoras” and Luis Collado, Director of the Department of Economic Structure and Development Economics, as well as other people such as colleagues, friends and relatives of Paloma Sánchez.
This book aims to pay a tribute to the career of Paloma Sánchez. Currently, she is Professor of Applied Economics at UAM and Director of the UAM-Accenture Chair in Economics and Management of Innovation.
Three years ago, Asunción López, José Guimón and Juan Carlos Salazar, professors and members of the UAM-Accenture Chair, decided to begin this Project.
During this time, they have collected a total of twenty-five original papers written by several authors, all of them related to innovation, intellectual capital and economic development. These lines of research are intimately related to the career of Paloma Sánchez.
The book is divided into three large sections. The first one is entitled “Places of Innovation”, the second one refers to “Management of Innovation and Intellectual Capital”, and the third and final section is devoted to “New Horizons for Innovation Policies”.
Finally, as an epilogue, a personal contribution is included, whose authors are her husband and two daughters, who are also prominent researchers in related research areas.
