This new “Breakfast with Innovation”, counted with Lorenzo Melchor, Scientific Coordinator at the Embassy of Spain in the UK, Ana Elorza, Scientific Coordinator and representative of FECYT in the US and Pablo Guimón, correspondent at El País in UK and Ireland, who acted as moderator.
Initially, Professor Paloma Sánchez, Director of UAM-Accenture Chair, made a presentation of the speakers, followed by a brief introduction by Pablo Guimón.
Then, both guests explained the meaning of the term “Scientific Diplomacy”, its origin and the work that FECYT scientific coordinators are doing in different Spanish embassies abroad. They also spoke about the position of the EU regarding “Scientific Diplomacy” and the challenges arising in the future at global level.
Then, there was a very interesting debate between the speakers and the audience.
The event was chaired by Miguel Buñuel, Vice-Dean of Internationalization, and also counted with the participation of Ignacio Horcajo, Information Technology & Information Security Director at Accenture Spain.
