The new UAM-Asseco Chair aims to promote teaching, research, exchange and co-production of knowledge between business and universities in the field of Economics and Management of Innovation.
The UAM-Asseco Chair in Economics and Management of Innovation is linked to the Department of Economic Structure and Development Economics of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Its Board of Directors will be chaired by Mr. José Antonio Pinilla, CEO of Asseco Spain, and directed by Prof. M. Paloma Sánchez.

The UAM-Asseco Chair in Economics and Management of Innovation was created to facilitate the exchange of research experiences and knowledge between organisations; promote the research diffusion and training in economics and management of innovation; and contribute to the professional integration of the postgraduate students.
Through this collaboration, both entities aim to contribute to the improvement of science and innovation policies in Spain by exchanging knowledge and providing advice to national, regional and local public administrations, as well as to promote the image of Spain as an innovative country and destination for investment in R&D by multinational companies.
The signing act was attended as signatories by Dr. Félix Zamora Abanades, Vice-Rector for Transfer, Innovation and Culture of the UAM; Dr. José Ramón Seoane, General Director of the Foundation of the UAM and Mr. José Antonio Pinilla Pérez, CEO of Asseco Spain. Also in the event were Dr. María Isabel Heredero de Pablos, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, and Dr. Paloma Sánchez Múñoz, Emeritus Professor of Applied Economics at the UAM and director of the Chair.
